Welcome to our Mars Hill University Heritage Garden website!

The MHU Heritage Garden was begun in 2018 by a group of sophomores and juniors in the Honors Program. To learn more about the creation of the Heritage Garden, check out the check out the 2018 Annual Update.

We focus on growing out and sharing the seed from open-pollinated vegetable varieties, especially those with a connection to Western North Carolina and Madison County. See the Our Community page to learn more about some of the varieties we grow and how they came to us.

Finally, if you've received some seed for us and are looking for some information about how (and when!) to plant as well as how to care for your plants, navigate to the Plant Information page.

Hope you enjoy!
